Kids Growing

connect - inspire - flourish

Our programme focuses on kindness - to the environment, ourselves and each other. It promotes understanding of growing, harvesting, preparing and eating own-grown food along with environmental sustainability.

Our tailored lesson plans give teachers and kids fun and engaging opportunities to develop these skills while teaching maths, science, culture, literacy, language and more...

Our community is advocating for the benefits of teaching life-skills in our classrooms. We're delighted to be part of the solution. So are our kids. So are their whanau.

Our Gardening Programme for Waitaki Schools

Our Kids Growing programme has been a labour of love. We've helped primary schools in North Otago establish edible gardens as an outdoor classroom and worked closely with teachers to develop curriculum-integrated lesson plans that are easy to deliver and truly fun for everyone.

Gardening in schools encourages healthy eating (e.g. 5+ a day), invites parents and grandparents to share their gardening skills and supports everyone in applying those cooking and gardening skills at home.
