Who We Are
About Waitaki Community Gardens
The Waitaki Community Gardens was established in December 2008 with a clear mission, "inspiring community sustainability". Since then we've continued to evolve throughout the Waitaki region, growing our work in local schools and throughout our community.
With just three staff, a willing body of volunteers and the backing of our Trustees, we maintain the Waitaki Community Gardens, the Harbour Heritage Garden, the Oamaru Food Bank Garden and our new Food Forest.
We see our purpose as bringing people of all ages together to share knowledge, empower people, build a resourceful and resilient community and generate real pride in our collective achievements.
We believe everyone has an important role to play. We hope you'll join us soon!
